Royal author Robert Lacey revealed the development during an interview with People magazine.
The expert explained that the decision revolves around keeping Prince George’s royal destiny under wraps.
“He really has enjoyed a period of normal childhood,” Lacey said.
He added that William deliberately delayed announcing the news until the very last possible moment.
“This shows special care and thoughtfulness — and it also tells us how deeply William feels the weight of the crown,” Lacey remarked.
He concluded by noting, “William takes his role as father of the future King just as seriously as his role as future King. That’s key. His top priority is making sure his children enjoy life rather than fear it.”
Even a palace source weighed in, saying, “They want him to focus on having freedom before he receives any royal titles.”
